Thieving training

From Roat Pkz
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Thieving on Roat Pkz is trained by stealing from market stalls. Every steal gives Thieving experience and a handful of skilling pouches, which you open for skilling points. This guide shows where the stalls are, how much experience and how many skilling points each one gives and how to train from 1 to 99. Every stall gives double experience in the Wilderness and in the Royal and Divine skilling dungeons, and the level 85 and 95 stalls only stand there.

Quick guide

Thieving Levels Stall Where
1–20 Baker's stall Home, Skilling Zone, Wilderness stalls (level 22)
20–40 Silk stall Home, Skilling Zone, Wilderness stalls
40–60 Fur stall Skilling Zone, Donator Zone, Wilderness stalls
60–80 Spice stall Skilling Zone, Donator Zone, Wilderness stalls
80–85 Gem stall Skilling Zone, Donator Zone, Wilderness stalls
85–95 Silver stall Resource Area, Donator Dungeon, Royal skilling dungeon
95–99 Gem stall (level 95) Resource Area, Donator Dungeon, Royal skilling dungeon

Every steal takes the same time, so the highest-level stall you can use is always the best, and a stall in the Wilderness gives twice the experience of the same stall in a safe area. Divine Donators have their own stalls, which give 20% more experience; see Divine stalls.

How Thieving works

  • Stealing: use the Steal-from option on a stall. Your character steals once every 4 ticks (2.4 seconds) and keeps going until you walk away, something hits you or your hands get tired; then click the stall again. Every steal succeeds; you are never caught.
  • Skilling pouches: every steal puts skilling pouches into your inventory. Each stall gives a random amount around its average, from half of it to one and a half times as much; see the table below. Skilling pouches stack, and the Open-all option turns them into skilling points, one point per pouch. From time to time the game asks you to open your pouches before you can steal again, so open them every now and then. You need a free inventory slot for the pouches.
  • Where you can steal: only at home, in the Skilling Zone, in the donator zones and in the Wilderness, at the stalls listed in Where to steal.
  • Wilderness: you need a combat level of at least 100 to steal in the Wilderness, and other players can attack you there. Hardcore PvP accounts can only train Thieving in the Wilderness.

Stalls

1 Baker's stall 100 200 16 8–24
20 Silk stall 150 300 24 12–36
40 Fur stall 250 500 32 16–48
60 Spice stall 300 600 48 24–72
80 Gem stall 500 1,000 56 28–84
85 Silver stall – 1,200 192 96–288
95 Gem stall – 1,400 240 120–360

The silver stall and the level 95 gem stall only stand where Thieving gives double experience, so their experience already includes that bonus. The experience is before the bonuses in Experience bonuses. The skilling points are the same everywhere; the Wilderness only doubles the experience.

Divine stalls

The Divine Skilling Zone has six stalls of its own, one each for levels 20, 40, 60, 80, 85 and 95. They give 20% more experience than the stalls of the same level elsewhere, and more skilling points. The zone gives double experience, which is included below.

Equipment

Rogue equipment

Main article: Rogue equipment

The Rogue mask, top, trousers and boots give 2% more Thieving experience each and the Rogue gloves 1%. All five pieces together give 10%, and four pieces without the gloves give 8%. The pieces have no requirements and cannot be traded. The Thieving Tutor sells the mask for 20,000 skilling points, the top for 40,000, the trousers for 30,000, the boots for 10,000 and the gloves for 5,000: 105,000 for the outfit. Thieving needs no other equipment.

The Thieving Tutor's shop is open to everyone: ::thieving takes you next to him in the Skilling Zone, and more Thieving Tutors stand in the Donator Zone and the Divine Skilling Zone. The shop buys Rogue pieces back for 70% of their price.

Experience bonuses

Every steal gives the experience in the tables above, raised by these bonuses:

Bonus Effect
Rogue equipment +2% for the mask, top, trousers and boots, +1% for the gloves, +10% for all five
Wilderness, Royal and Divine skilling dungeons +100%: double experience
Vote streak +1% for every day in a row you have voted, up to +50% (::votestreak shows yours)
Thieving XP (10%) clan perk The total is multiplied by 1.1
Double XP scroll or the Well of Goodwill's Double XP perk The total is doubled
Max cape About 1 steal in 10 gives double experience and twice the skilling pouches

The outfit, Wilderness and vote streak bonuses are added together first, and the clan perk and double experience multiply the result. For example, the level 95 gem stall gives 700 experience before the double-experience bonus. In the Resource Area it gives 1,400, with the full Rogue equipment 1,470 (700 × 2.1), and with a 50-day vote streak as well 1,820 (× 2.6). The clan perk raises that to 2,002 and double experience to 4,004.

Level boosts

Your boosted Thieving level counts for the level requirements of the stalls:

  • An Indomitable Skiller scroll sets your Thieving level to 99 for an hour, so you can use the level 95 gem stall at any level. A Skill Boost scroll raises it by 25 levels for an hour. Both are on the Scrolls page.
  • The Royal skilling dungeon boosts your skills by 15 levels and the Divine Skilling Zone by 25 levels, up to 99, while you are inside.

Other scrolls

  • The Double Harvest scroll and the Well of Goodwill's Double Harvest perk give you twice the skilling pouches on every steal.

The numbers are how many stalls of each kind there are. Thieving Tutors stand by the stalls in the Skilling Zone, the Donator Zone and the Divine Skilling Zone. The Donator Dungeon is open to every donator rank, but its silver stalls are in the Extreme and Legendary sections and its gem stall in the Legendary section. The Royal skilling dungeon is for Royal Donators and the Divine Skilling Zone for Divine Donators. Every Wilderness spot, the Donator Dungeon and the Royal and Divine dungeons are dangerous: other players can attack you, and you lose your items when you die (see Items Kept on Death).

Training by level

The numbers of steals below use the experience in the Wilderness, without the Rogue equipment or other bonuses. At the safe stalls you need twice as many.

Levels 1–20: Baker's stall

Steal from the Baker's stall (100 experience, 200 in the Wilderness). You need about 25 steals in the Wilderness or 45 at home or in the Skilling Zone.

Levels 20–40: silk stall

The silk stall gives 150 experience, 300 in the Wilderness. From 20 to 40 you need about 110 steals in the Wilderness.

Levels 40–60: fur stall

The fur stall gives 250 experience, 500 in the Wilderness. From 40 to 60 you need about 470 steals in the Wilderness.

Levels 60–80: spice stall

The spice stall gives 300 experience, 600 in the Wilderness. From 60 to 80 you need about 2,850 steals in the Wilderness, or about 5,710 in a safe area.

Levels 80–85: gem stall

The gem stall gives 500 experience, 1,000 in the Wilderness. From 80 to 85 you need about 1,270 steals in the Wilderness.

Levels 85–95: silver stall

The silver stall gives 1,200 experience and 192 skilling points on average per steal. Silver stalls stand in the Resource Area, in the Donator Dungeon and in the Royal skilling dungeon. From 85 to 95 you need about 4,600 steals.

Levels 95–99: gem stall

The level 95 gem stall gives 1,400 experience and 240 skilling points on average per steal. From 95 to 99 you need about 3,050 steals.

Divine Donators can use the Divine stalls instead: from level 80 their stalls give 1,200, 1,440 and 1,680 experience per steal.

Best experience

Every steal takes 4 ticks (2.4 seconds), so the experience per steal decides the experience for your time:

Stall XP per steal
(double experience)
Skilling points per steal
(average)
Divine stall (level 95) 1,680 280
Gem stall (level 95) 1,400 240
Silver stall 1,200 192
Gem stall (level 80, Wilderness) 1,000 56

The level 85 and 95 stalls are also by far the best skilling points: a silver stall gives more than three times as many skilling points per steal as the level 80 gem stall.

AFK Thieving

Main article: AFK Skilling

In the AFK Skilling zone (::afkskilling) you can train Thieving at the AFK market stall once you have level 50 Thieving. You do not get any skilling pouches, and the experience is lower than active thieving, but your character keeps stealing while you are away and you earn AFK Tokens for the AFK Skilling Shop. The Rogue equipment, vote streak, clan perk and double experience count there too. Divine Donators also have an AFK market stall in their own zone.

Other rewards

  • Pet: while you steal from stalls you can receive the Rocky skilling pet. It comes more often in the Wilderness and the Royal and Divine skilling dungeons.
  • Clue scrolls and Skilling Crates: you can also receive clue scrolls and Skilling Crates while stealing.
  • Achievements give skilling points for your Thieving level and experience, for the number of stalls you steal from and for the number of times you steal from a level 85 or 95 stall. Reaching level 99 also gives a Silver XP Lamp.
  • Skillcapes: at level 99 you can wear the Thieving cape, which the Skilling Master in the Skilling Zone gives out for free. With 200 million Thieving experience you can buy the Thieving mastery cape from him for 200,000 PK points.
