Cooking is a skill that allows raw food to be made edible, healing hitpoints when eaten. To do this, the player uses a raw, cookable food on a range or fire.
Depending on the player's Cooking level, food will sometimes burn and becoming useable.
When you burn the raw food upon cooking, you will still be rewarded with Skilling Points.
Cooking gauntlets

The Cooking gauntlets is an experience-boosting clothing set, that grants 10% additional experience from all cooking activities when worn.
They are equipable at Level 1 cooking, so it's highly recommended using the cooking gauntlets from level 1.
They can be bought from Cooking Tutor, which is the NPC located at ::cooking, east of ::dzone and Resource Area in deep wilderness for 100.000 Skilling Points.

XP/SKP per cook
Start training by ::cooking or ::dzone run east - you will be rewarded with skilling points after cooking something, even if it's burnt!
Levels 1–99: Cooking fish
Cooking fish requires very little attention, and it usually breaks even or profits slightly at higher levels. However, this method is a lot slower than the others, so it is only recommended for players who seek for a very low-effort alternative and do not want to spend a lot of money doing it.
For this method, it is strongly recommended to get the cooking gauntlets from the cooking shop. When worn, they boost XP by 10%.
The table below assumes cooking gauntlets are equipped.

|---|---|---|---|---|
