Blue moon armour

The Frostweaver set effect.

Blue moon armour is a magic armour set made of the Blue moon helm, Blue moon chestplate and Blue moon tassets. Every piece needs 75 Magic and 50 Defence. The full set gives +58 magic attack and +3% magic damage, the same as a full set of Ahrim's robes, plus +6 melee strength.

The set belongs with the Blue moon spear, a two-handed spear that can also cast spells. With the full set and the spear you get the Frostweaver effect, which adds free melee hits between your binding and freezing spells, and you can use the spear's special attack. The armour and the spear are sold in the PK Point Shop for 17,500 PK points in total, and every piece is tradeable.

Set effect

You need all three pieces on and the Blue moon spear in your hands. Without the full set the spear's special attack does not activate either.

Frostweaver

• When you cast Bind, Snare or Entangle or one of the ice spells (Ice Rush, Ice Burst, Ice Blitz or Ice Barrage), there is about a 1 in 5 chance that Frostweaver triggers.
• For the next 2 to 5 ticks, your next attack is a melee hit with the spear that does not wait for the attack delay. While you autocast, this happens on its own between two casts and does not delay your next spell.
• If your special attack bar is turned on when Frostweaver triggers, that melee hit is the spear's special attack (as long as you have the energy for it).

Blue moon spear

The Blue moon spear is a two-handed spear that needs 70 Attack and 75 Magic. It works as both a melee weapon and a staff:

• It can autocast spells from the standard spellbook, Ancient Magicks and the Arceuus spellbook. It has +30 magic attack and +5% magic damage, and it casts spells every 5 ticks (3 seconds).
• In melee it has +70 stab and +62 slash and crush attack and +71 melee strength, and it attacks every 5 ticks.
• Special attack (50% special attack energy, full set needed): the hit gets 1% more accuracy and 1% higher max hit for every tick of freeze the target still has left. A target with 20 ticks of freeze left takes the special with +20% accuracy and max hit. The hit also ends the target's freeze. See Freezing for how freezes work.

Combat stats

The full set gives +58 magic attack, +84 crush and +66 magic defence, +6 melee strength and +3% magic damage. The pieces have no stab, slash or ranged defence and no prayer bonus.

Compared with Ahrim's robes

Blue moon helm, chestplate and tassets	Ahrim's hood, robetop and robeskirt
Requirements	75 Magic, 50 Defence	70 Magic, 70 Defence
Magic attack / magic damage	+58 / +3%	+58 / +3%

The Blue moon pieces have the same magic bonuses with only 50 Defence, slightly more magic defence and no ranged attack penalty, while Ahrim's robes protect much better against melee.
