Karil's equipment

Karil the Tainted, one of the six Barrows brothers.

Karil's equipment is the ranged set of Karil the Tainted, one of the six Barrows brothers. It is made of Karil's coif, Karil's leathertop, Karil's leatherskirt and Karil's crossbow. The armour needs 70 Ranged and 70 Defence, and the crossbow needs 70 Ranged.

The leathertop and leatherskirt have high magic defence for ranged armour (+65 and +35). In the ::bis interface only Morrigan's leather body, the Masori body (f) and the Armadyl chestplate have more magic defence among bodies, and only Morrigan's leather chaps, the Masori chaps (f) and the Armadyl chainskirt among legs. The crossbow is a fast two-handed weapon that fires bolt racks. The whole set costs 1,000 PK points in the PK Point Shop.

Combat stats

Full set: +138 ranged attack, -26 magic attack, +79 stab, +71 slash, +90 crush, +106 magic and +100 ranged defence. The set has no ranged strength; that comes from the bolt racks.

The crossbow attacks every 4 ticks (3 on Rapid) and has an attack range of 8 (10 on Longrange). It only fires bolt racks (+55 ranged strength, 70 Ranged needed), which are free in the Range shop.

Set effect

While you wear all four pieces together with an Amulet of the damned (full), each ranged hit of 2 or more damage against another player has a 25% chance to be followed by a second hit for half its damage (rounded down).

Every piece can be found in the chest at the Barrows, which you can open after killing all six brothers.

PK Point Shop

The PK Point Shop at ::shops sells every piece for PK points:

• Karil's armour set (all four pieces in one item): 1,000

Other sources

• Starter kit: the Tribrid Pking starter kit, which you can pick when you create an account, includes a Karil's leathertop.
• Crates: every piece can come from a Bronze Crate.
• Collection log: the reward for completing the Barrows Chests collection log includes a Karil's armour set.
• Achievements: the PvP achievements Obtain a Killstreak of 300 (one set) and Shutdown a Killstreak of 450 (2 noted sets) reward Karil's armour sets.
• Trading post: all pieces are tradeable.
• Item set: the four pieces can be swapped for a Karil's armour set (and back) at the item sets interface.

Breaking and repair

Karil's equipment does not wear down while you use it; the Check option always shows a 100% charge. A piece only breaks when it is dropped on the floor outside the Barrows crypt, for example when you lose it on death. It then turns into its broken version, such as Karil's crossbow 0, which has no bonuses and cannot be worn. Use the broken piece's Repair option to fix it for 25 PK points. Broken pieces are tradeable.

• Dealing 1,500 PvP damage while wearing full Karil's is one of the easy daily tasks.
