Minigames

From Roat Pkz
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Minigames and events are the activities on Roat Pkz outside normal PKing, bossing and skilling: PvP minigames such as Last Man Standing and Castle Wars, the two raids, Wilderness events that run several times a day, bosses that spawn on a timer, and games that players or staff host. Most of them reward PK points or their own points, which you spend in a shop.

Use ::events to see today's event times, and ::locs to see where the Wilderness events and timed bosses are right now. All times on this page are server time.

The minigames (Last Man Standing, Castle Wars, the tournaments and the Clan Cup) are safe: you keep your items when you die there. The Wilderness events take place in the normal Wilderness, where you lose items as usual.

Castle Wars

Castle Wars is a capture-the-flag minigame between a Saradomin team and a Zamorak team. Teleport to the lobby with ::cw and step into the Saradomin or Zamorak portal, or into the Guthix portal to be put into a team for you. You cannot join a team that already has more players waiting than the other one.

  • Before you enter: you cannot wear a cape, and you cannot take food or healing potions into the game. You wear your team's hooded cloak for the whole game. Your own gear is safe: you keep it if you die.
  • Starting: a game starts a few minutes after each team has at least one player waiting. You get a message when a game is about to start.
  • The game: each game lasts 10 minutes. Take the enemy flag from their castle and bring it to your own flag stand to score. The team with more captures wins.
  • Supplies: the tables in your base give bandages, explosive potions, barricades, climbing ropes, toolkits, prayer potions and bronze pickaxes. A bandage heals a fifth of your Hitpoints and restores 30% run energy. Run energy drains during the game.
  • After you die: you respawn in your team's respawn room. Leave it within 2 minutes, or you are removed from the game.

Hosting a game

Players can put up their own prize for a Castle Wars game, a tournament or a Last Man Standing game. The prize must be a valuable, tradeable item; it is taken from your inventory when you confirm, and you cannot get it back.

Game How to host Lowest prize Who gets the prize
Castle Wars Use the item on the Castle Wars host or a team portal at ::cw 2,000,000 PKP PK points are split evenly between everyone on the winning team; an item goes to one random player of the winning team
Tournament Use the item on the Tournament Master at ::tournament and pick the tournament type 2,000,000 PKP PK points are split between the top four: 50%, 30%, 10% and 10%; an item goes to the winner

Only one hosted game of each kind can wait to start at a time.

Drop parties

Any player can hold a drop party at ::party. Put tradeable items worth at least 500 PKP each into the drop party chest (food and potions must be noted first). A player who has put in at least a quarter of the total value, or more than 5,000 PKP worth, can start the party. After a 3-minute countdown, balloons fill the room: pop them to find the items. Everyone online gets a message about the party and its total value.

Wilderness Hotspot

Every 30 minutes, at :15 and :45 past the hour, the Wilderness Hotspot moves to another PvP area, and a message tells everyone where it is. Player kills inside the hotspot give double PK points. Teleport to it with ::hotspot. The hotspot can be at Edgeville, Edge PvP, Varrock, the Mage Bank, East Dragons, West Dragons, the Revenant Caves, the 44 portals, the 50 portals or Chins.

Seasonal events

Roat Pkz holds an event at Easter, in summer, at Halloween and at Christmas. Each one has its own area, reached with ::easter, ::summer, ::halloween or ::xmas while the event runs, a holiday boss that spawns in the Wilderness several times a day, event tokens, and a shop with limited-time rewards. When the event ends, its rewards can only be traded between players. See Holiday events for every past event with its monsters and rewards, and Holiday items for how many of each reward exist.
