Slayer

Slayer is a combat skill that you train by killing the monsters that Krystilia, the Slayer master, gives you as a Slayer task. Almost every task is in the Wilderness, so other players can attack you while you train.
You only get Slayer experience for kills of monsters on your current task. You do not need a Slayer level to attack any monster: your level only decides which tasks Krystilia can give you.
Getting a task
- Talk to Krystilia and choose Give me a Slayer Task. Type ::slayer to teleport to her at Edgeville. She also stands in the Divine Donator zone and on tier 4 clan islands.
- Krystilia picks a random task from the ones your Slayer level allows. Some tasks come up more often than others; Slayer tasks lists every task, its level, amount, weight and experience.
- You never get the same task twice in a row, and never a task you have blocked.
- The Wilderness boss tasks only come up after you buy the Like a boss unlock.
- Talking to Krystilia while you have a task tells you how many kills you have left. View Rewards opens the Slayer interface, where you spend Slayer points.
Task teleports
- Every task comes with 8 free teleports. An enchanted gem shows your task and teleports you to it; Slayer helmets can do the same when worn.
- Depending on the task, the teleport menu offers the task's Wilderness spot, the Slayer Cave and the Divine Slayer Cave (Divine Donator only). Each option shows the Wilderness level and whether the area is multi-combat.
- The enchanted gem is free from the Slayer shop. Its Partner option opens the Slayer partner menu.
Experience
Every monster's page lists the Slayer experience you get for one kill on task. These boosts are added together and then applied:
| Boost | Extra Slayer experience |
|---|---|
| Slayer ring (worn) | +10% |
| Holy kodai wand (wielded) | +15% |
| The Slayer XP (10%) clan perk | +10% |
| Double experience | Doubles the total |
For example, a Slayer ring and a Holy kodai wand together give 25% more experience. Superior monsters use the same boosts.
Slayer points
Finishing a task gives Slayer points. The highest milestone you reach applies, so your 100th task gives 625 points, not 125.
| Task | Slayer points |
|---|---|
| Every task | 25 |
| Every 10th task | 125 |
| Every 50th task | 375 |
| Every 100th task | 625 |
| Every 250th task | 875 |
| Every 1,000th task | 1,250 |
These then raise the amount:
- The Slayer Gatherer clan perk gives 50% more points.
- The Double Slayer perk of the Well of Goodwill doubles them.
- Wearing a Max cape gives about a 1 in 5 chance to get the points twice.
- Your donator rank adds a share of the points on top (at least 1 point), as shown in the table under Cancelling, blocking and skipping.
Rewards
Spend Slayer points through View Rewards at Krystilia. Clicking an unlock you already own switches it off again, and you do not get the points back.
The Slayer Rewards window
Clicking a reward opens a confirmation panel with its description and price, and Back and Confirm buttons. Clicking a reward you already own asks Really disable it? instead.
| Tab | What it does |
|---|---|
| Unlock | Buy Like a boss and Bigger and Badder (see Unlocks). |
| Extend | Buy the eight task extensions (see Extensions). |
| Buy | Opens the Slayer shop, which Krystilia's Trade option also opens. |
| Tasks | Shows your current assignment with Cancel task and Block task, and your six blocked-task slots, each with Unblock task. Cancel and block show what they will cost before you confirm; the price depends on your donator rank (see Cancelling, blocking and skipping). |
| Helms | Buy the Tztok, Vampyric and Tzkal slayer helmets (i) for PK points. |
A slot you can't use yet tells you what it needs:
| Blocked-task slot | Needs |
|---|---|
| 1 | Nothing |
| 2 | 25 Slayer |
| 3 | 50 Slayer |
| 4 | Donator rank or higher |
| 5 | Super Donator rank or higher |
| 6 | Extreme Donator rank or higher |
In the Helms tab each helmet lists its price, every boss kill count and the Slayer level it needs, and its daily boss teleports. A requirement shows red until you start on it, yellow while you work on it and green once it's done. You can buy a helmet as soon as you have all its boss kill counts; you also need the Slayer level to wear it. The PK points can come from your Quest tab or your inventory.
| Helmet | Price | Slayer level to wear | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tztok slayer helmet (i) | 500,000 PK points | 75 | |
| Vampyric slayer helmet (i) | 750,000 PK points | 85 | |
| Tzkal slayer helmet (i) | 1,000,000 PK points | 95 | |
See Slayer helmet for the kill counts and Boss teleports for the teleports.

| Bigger and Badder | 150 | Superior monsters can appear on abyssal demon, bloodveld, dark beast, dust devil, gargoyle, jelly, nechryael and smoke devil tasks (see below). |
Extensions
Each extension gives its task a new kill range.

| Greater challenge | 100 | Greater Demon | 100–150 | 150–200 |
Cancelling, blocking and skipping
- Cancel a task to get a new one. You cannot get the cancelled task again straight away.
- Block a task so Krystilia never gives it to you. Blocking also ends the task. You have one block slot, plus one more at level 25 Slayer, one at level 50 Slayer and one each for the Donator, Super Donator and Extreme Donator ranks (six in total). Unblocking is free, but you do not get the points back.
- A Skip scroll (a daily task reward) skips your task for free: use it on Krystilia.
- A Choose Wisely scroll lets you pick any task, including Nex, Zulrah, Tormented demons, the King Black Dragon, the Kraken, the Corporeal Beast, Battle mages, the Divine Third Age monsters (Divine Donators only), and Chambers of Xeric and Theatre of Blood raids, and how many to kill within the task's range. See Choose Wisely tasks and Scrolls.
Donator ranks pay fewer points to cancel or block and get extra points for every finished task:
| Rank | Cancel a task | Block a task | Extra points per task |
|---|---|---|---|
| No rank | 30 | 100 | – |
| Donator | 27 | 90 | +5% |
| Super Donator | 24 | 80 | +10% |
| Extreme Donator | 21 | 70 | +15% |
| Legendary Donator | 18 | 60 | +25% |
| Royal Donator | 15 | 50 | +50% |
| Divine Donator | 12 | 40 | +75% |

Equipment
Slayer helmets
- The Slayer helmet gives +16.67% melee accuracy and damage against monsters on your task. Against undead, a Salve amulet's bonus is used instead; the two do not stack.
- The imbued Slayer helmet (i) also gives +15% Ranged and Magic accuracy and damage on task. Recoloured imbued helmets cost 1,000 Slayer points each and work the same way.
- Three special helmets (Tztok, Vampyric and Tzkal) are bought for PK points in the Slayer interface. Wearing them needs boss kill counts, and they give 10, 20 or 30 free Wilderness boss teleports per day. See Slayer helmet.
Slayer ring
- The Slayer ring gives +10% Slayer experience while worn.
- While you wear it, Larran's keys from your task monsters go straight to your inventory.
- It is a super rare reward: every kill on task has about a 1 in 5,000 chance to give one.
Bracelets
- The expeditious bracelet gives a 1 in 4 chance for a task kill to count twice.
- The bracelet of slaughter gives a 1 in 4 chance for a task kill not to count, making the task longer.
- Each bracelet has 30 charges and breaks when they run out. Both cost 10 Slayer points.
Other boosts
- The Krystilia Blessing scroll (a daily task reward) gives +15% accuracy and damage with every combat style against your task monsters while it is active.
- The Holy kodai wand gives +15% Slayer experience and makes superior monsters appear more often.
Slayer partners
- You and your partner must have each other on your friends lists. Open the partner menu from the enchanted gem and send a request. You can have one partner at a time.
- When you get a task while your partner is online and has no task, they get the same task. Their kill count can be different from yours.
- You are told when your partner gains a Slayer level or finishes a task.
The Slayer Partner window
Open it with the Partner option on your enchanted gem, or on a Slayer helmet or Slayer ring you are wearing. It shows your Current partner and their Slayer level, or (none).
- New partner asks for a name and sends that player a request. They must be online, you must have each other on your friends lists, and they can't already have a partner. They then accept or decline.
- Remove partner ends the partnership after you confirm. Your partner gets a message.
- A shared task is picked from the tasks you can both get, never one that either of you has blocked.
Superior monsters
With the Bigger and Badder unlock, every kill on an abyssal demon, bloodveld, dark beast, dust devil, gargoyle, jelly, nechryael or smoke devil task has about a 1 in 151 chance (about 1 in 131 with a Holy kodai wand) to make a superior version appear. It attacks the player who made it appear and disappears after 2 minutes without being hit. Superiors do not count towards the task, but they give a lot of Slayer experience and always drop a Larran's key and a piece of a Purifying sigil.
| Superior | Appears on | Slayer experience |
|---|---|---|
| Insatiable Bloodveld | Bloodveld | 14,500 |
| Marble gargoyle | Gargoyle | 15,220 |
| Vitreous Jelly | Jelly | 9,500 |
| Greater abyssal demon | Abyssal demon | 21,000 |
| Night beast | Dark beast | 32,310 |
| Choke devil | Dust devil | 15,000 |
| Nechryarch | Nechryael | 16,400 |
| Nuclear smoke devil | Smoke devil | 12,000 |
Loot on task
- PK points dropped by your task monsters go straight to your inventory when there is room.
- Larran's keys from Slayer monsters only drop while they are your task (see each monster's page for its rate). With a Slayer ring they go straight to your inventory.
- A Larran's Love scroll (a daily task reward) gives every Larran's key roll a second try while it is active.
Where to train
- The Slayer Cave is a multi-combat cave in the Wilderness with most Slayer monsters close together.
- The Divine Slayer Cave is a larger version for Divine Donators.
- Task teleports also go to each task's spot in the open Wilderness.
Records
- Finished tasks count for the Finish a Slayer task daily task and for your achievement score.
- Player kills inside the Slayer Cave are tracked on their own hiscore.
