Magic axes are enchanted battleaxes found in the Axe Hut in the deep Wilderness and in the Slayer Cave. They come in combat level 42. Krystilia can assign them as a Slayer task at any Slayer level. You do not need a Slayer level to attack them; the level only matters for getting the task.

Drops
