Larran's key is a key obtained from killing monsters while on a Slayer task given by Krystilia. It is used to open Larran's small and big chests.
The key only drops from monsters that are part of your current slayer task. Superior slayer monsters always drop one, and the Wilderness bosses drop it often while they are your task (Callisto and Venenatis 1/3, Vet'ion 1/8). If you wear a slayer ring, the key goes straight into your inventory. The Double Slayer Well of Goodwill perk doubles key drops.
The Larran's key is stackable but lost upon death (even if unskulled).
Chests
The chest is located in two places, in the deep wilderness (::MB) and at level 18 wilderness (::SC).
The deep wilderness chest gives you 3 reward items, while the lower wilderness one only has two.
You need a combat level of 90 or higher to open either chest.
Larran's small chest
Larran's small chest can be found north-east of the Chaos Temple. The chest is locked and can only be opened by using Larran's key.
Both chests use the same loot table. The small chest gives 2 rewards per key and the big chest gives 3, so the small chest gives about a third less loot. However, the big chest is located in a much more dangerous part of the deep Wilderness and is more frequented by Player Killers.
Larran's big chest
Larran's big chest can be found on the ship west of Pirates' Hideout, quickest way there is by running from mage bank (::MB). The chest is locked and can only be opened by using Larran's key, which is obtained from killing monsters that Krystilia assigns the player.
It shares the same loot table as Larran's small chest, but gives 3 rewards per key instead of 2.
When a chest is opened, the whole server gets a message that a Larran's chest was opened at level 55 (big chest) or level 18 (small chest) Wilderness. This message is sent at most once a minute per chest.
Rewards
Each reward is rolled on its own. Every roll is either a prayer scroll (Rigour or Augury) or a random row from the table below; the Dagon'hai pieces, logs and ores are listed more than once in the table, so they are more common. Each chest opening can also give a Holy kodai wand in place of the first reward.
