Dharok the Wretched, one of the six Barrows brothers.

Dharok's equipment is the melee set of Dharok the Wretched, one of the six Barrows brothers. It is made of Dharok's helm, Dharok's platebody, Dharok's platelegs and Dharok's greataxe. The armour needs 70 Defence and the greataxe needs 70 Attack and 70 Strength.

With all four pieces worn, your melee max hit grows as your Hitpoints drop, up to almost double at 1 Hitpoint (see Set effect). The armour is also strong on its own: the platebody's +122 stab defence is the second highest of any body in the ::bis interface, shared with the Torag's and Guthan's platebodies (only the Justiciar chestguard has more). The whole set costs 1,000 PK points in the PK Point Shop.

Set effect

While you wear all four pieces, your melee max hit is multiplied by 1 + (Hitpoints missing ÷ 100) × (maximum Hitpoints ÷ 100), rounded down. It works against players and monsters. With 99 Hitpoints:

Hitpoints left Max hit bonus A max hit of 40 becomes
99 none 40
90 +8.9% 43
75 +23.8% 49
50 +48.5% 59
25 +73.3% 69
10 +88.1% 75
1 +97.0% 78

With the Amulet of the damned

If you also wear an Amulet of the damned (full), every hit another player lands on you has a 25% chance to send 15% of its damage (rounded down) back to them as recoil.

How to get it

Barrows

Every piece can be found in the chest at the Barrows, which you can open after killing all six brothers.

PK Point Shop

The PK Point Shop at ::shops sells every piece for PK points:

  • Dharok's helm: 150
  • Dharok's platebody: 350
  • Dharok's platelegs: 350
  • Dharok's greataxe: 150
  • Dharok's armour set (all four pieces in one item): 1,000

Other sources

  • Starter kit: the Main Pking starter kit, which you can pick when you create an account, includes two of every piece.
  • Crates and chests: every piece can come from a Bronze Crate, and the platebody and platelegs also from a Silver Crate. A Gold Crate can give a Dharok's armour set, and a Platinum Crate, the Bloodlust Chest and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Chest can give 5, 10 and 25 noted Dharok's armour sets.
  • Collection log: the reward for completing the Barrows Chests collection log includes a Dharok's armour set.
  • Achievements: these PvP achievements reward Dharok's armour sets: Obtain a Killstreak of 200 and Kill 1,600 Players in PvP (one set each); Kill 185 Players in PvP, Kill 475 Players as a Zerker and Shutdown a Killstreak of 350 (2 noted sets each); Kill 2,500 Players as a Main Melee (30 noted sets).
  • Holiday events: the helm, platebody and platelegs were also in the bronze-tier reward boxes of past holiday events (limited-time rewards).
  • Trading post: all pieces are tradeable.
  • Item set: the four pieces can be swapped for a Dharok's armour set (and back) at the item sets interface.

Breaking and repair

Dharok's equipment does not wear down while you use it; the Check option always shows a 100% charge. A piece only breaks when it is dropped on the floor outside the Barrows crypt, for example when you lose it on death. It then turns into its broken version, such as Dharok's helm 0, which has no bonuses and cannot be worn. Use the broken piece's Repair option to fix it for 25 PK points. Broken pieces are tradeable.
