Guthan's equipment

Guthan the Infested, one of the six Barrows brothers.

Guthan's equipment is the melee set of Guthan the Infested, one of the six Barrows brothers. It is made of Guthan's helm, Guthan's platebody, Guthan's chainskirt and Guthan's warspear. The armour needs 70 Defence and the warspear needs 70 Attack and 70 Strength.

With all four pieces worn, some of your melee hits heal you for the damage they deal (see Set effect). The helm's +62 ranged defence is the second highest of any helmet in the ::bis interface (shared with Torag's helm; only the Justiciar faceguard has more), and the platebody's +122 stab defence is the second highest of any body, shared with the Dharok's and Torag's platebodies. The warspear has +75 attack in all three melee styles and, as a spear, deals full damage to the Corporeal Beast. The whole set costs 1,000 PK points in the PK Point Shop.

The warspear attacks every 5 ticks (3 seconds).

Set effect

While you wear all four pieces, each successful melee hit has a 25% chance to heal you by the damage it deals, up to your maximum Hitpoints. It works against players and monsters.

With the Amulet of the damned

If you also wear an Amulet of the damned (full), this healing can take you up to 10 Hitpoints above your maximum.

How to get it

Barrows

Every piece can be found in the chest at the Barrows, which you can open after killing all six brothers.

Shops

The PK Point Shop at ::shops sells every piece for PK points:

• Guthan's helm: 150
• Guthan's platebody: 350
• Guthan's chainskirt: 350
• Guthan's warspear: 150
• Guthan's armour set (all four pieces in one item): 1,000

The shop keeper in the Corporeal Beast's cave also sells Guthan's warspear for 150 PK points.

Other sources

• Achievements: the PvP achievements Obtain a Killstreak of 350 (one set) and Kill 1,000 Players in the Deep Wilderness (2 noted sets) reward Guthan's armour sets.
• Trading post: all pieces are tradeable.
• Item set: the four pieces can be swapped for a Guthan's armour set (and back) at the item sets interface.

Breaking and repair

Guthan's equipment does not wear down while you use it; the Check option always shows a 100% charge. A piece only breaks when it is dropped on the floor outside the Barrows crypt, for example when you lose it on death. It then turns into its broken version, such as Guthan's warspear 0, which has no bonuses and cannot be worn. Use the broken piece's Repair option to fix it for 25 PK points. Broken pieces are tradeable.

Other uses

• Dealing 1,500 PvP damage while wearing Guthan's helm, platebody and chainskirt is one of the easy daily tasks (the warspear is not needed).
• Some easy clue scroll steps ask you to wear Guthan's helm or chainskirt.
