The Dragon claws are a two-handed slash weapon that needs 60 Attack. They attack every 4 ticks (2.4 seconds), but players carry them mainly for their special attack: four hitsplats in one attack that can add up to twice your max hit.

Special attack
The special attack costs 50% special attack energy. The claws make four accuracy rolls, each with the attack roll multiplied by 3.25 and checked against the target's slash defence. A roll counts as successful if it would deal at least 1 damage. The number of successful rolls decides the total damage, which is then split into four hitsplats of 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and 1/8 of the total (rounded down). The last two hitsplats land one tick after the first two.
| Successful rolls | Total damage |
|---|---|
| 4 | Max hit + a random 0 to max hit (1× to 2× max hit) |
| 3 | 75% of max hit + a random 0 to max hit |
| 2 | 50% of max hit + a random 0 to max hit |
| 1 | 25% of max hit + a random 0 to max hit |
| 0 | Half the time two hitsplats of 1, otherwise nothing |
The max hit used is your normal melee max hit, so with a max hit of 50 the best possible special is 50-25-12-12. Against players, Protect from Melee and the Elysian spirit shield reduce each hitsplat separately.
How to get it
| Source | Quantity | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50/638 per unique roll (about 1/13) |
In the Chambers of Xeric, players earn 7.5 points per damage dealt to the Great Olm and its hands and need more than 3,000 points to roll for a unique reward. Every full 3,000 points gives about a 1% chance (raised by donator rank and challenge mode), so a 30,000-point raid has about a 10% chance at the unique table, where the claws are 50 of the 638 entries.
