Boss Bounty

A Boss Bounty is an event hosted by staff. Boss Bounties were added in the September 2025 update. A valuable item is put up as a bounty on a monster, a raid or player kills in Edgeville, with a set drop rate such as 1 in 1,000. Every kill rolls once at that rate, and the first player to hit the roll wins the item.
For example, a bounty of an Elysian spirit shield on green dragons at 1 in 1,000 gives every green dragon kill a 1 in 1,000 chance to win the shield.
How a bounty works
- The host picks the target, the reward and the drop rate. The rate can be as rare as 1 in 1,000,000.
- The reward must be a tradeable item worth at least 1,000,000 PK points.
- When a bounty starts, everyone online gets a message with the target, the rate and the reward.
- Each kill of the target rolls once at the bounty's rate. When a kill gives drops to several players, such as a world boss that rewards everyone who fought it, each of them rolls.
- The first player to win is announced to everyone, together with the total number of kills during the event. The bounty then ends.
- The reward is added straight to the winner's bank.
- There is no time limit. A bounty stays up until someone wins it, and several bounties can run at the same time.
What counts as a kill
| Bounty on | What rolls |
|---|---|
| A monster or boss | Every kill of that monster. Some bounties cover a whole group:
|
| Chambers of Xeric or Theatre of Blood | Each player in the raid rolls once when the raid is completed. |
| Edgeville PvP | Every player kill in the level 1 to 7 Wilderness north of Edgeville, when both players are inside that area. After each kill you are told the number you rolled and the number you needed. |
Checking the active bounties
- Type
::bossbounty(also::bossbounties,::pvpbountyor::edgebounty) to list every active bounty with its rate, its reward and the number of kills so far. - Examine a monster to see whether it has a bounty on it. The message shows the rate, the reward, the kills so far and the host.
- While bounties are running, the global broadcast shows the most valuable monster bounty and the most valuable Edgeville bounty. After a win, it shows the winner for 2 minutes.
Schedule
Boss Bounties have no fixed schedule. Staff start them at any time, and each one runs until it is won.
