Update:2025 September update

The 2025 September update was announced on 20 September 2025. It was one of the biggest updates of the year, adding the Eye of ayak, Avernic treads (max), two new prayers, the Gold Wilderness Chest and Treasure Hunt Wilderness events, the hourly Gemstone Crab boss, Boss Bounty events, the High Roller Zone and a raise of the default PKP per kill from 100 to 500.

New items

Eye of Ayak

The Eye of ayak is a one-handed powered staff that requires 83 Magic. It was added to the Gold Wilderness Chest (2.5M PKP value). It is stronger than the Sanguinesti staff in attack speed and utility, but slightly below Tumeken's shadow in raw damage, so it is a strong option even for players who already own a Shadow.

Avernic Treads

Avernic treads (max) are boots that require 80 Defence, Strength, Ranged and Magic. They give top-tier offensive bonuses for Melee, Ranged and Magic, but give up Prayer and defensive stats. They were added to the PK Point store for 100K PKP.

Confliction Gauntlets

The Confliction gauntlets are an upgraded tormented bracelet that requires 90 Hitpoints. They give best-in-slot magic attack and magic damage bonuses.

• Compared to the tormented bracelet they have +10 magic attack, some defensive bonuses and +2% magic damage.
• Passive effect: after a missed magic attack with a one-handed magic weapon, the next magic attack against the same target rolls accuracy twice. This does not work with two-handed weapons.
• Added to the Bounty Hunter store for 50K BHP.

Arkan Blade

The Arkan blade is a one-handed melee weapon that requires 60 Attack. Compared to the dragon scimitar it has a slightly lower strength bonus (64 vs. 66), but a higher slash bonus (70 vs. 67) and a much better stab bonus (55 vs. 8). It was added to the PK Point store for 5K PKP.

Antler Guard

The Antler guard is a tribrid shield that requires 50 Prayer.

• Its melee bonuses sit between an adamant and a rune defender, its ranged bonuses between the unholy book and book of law, and its magic bonuses between the elemental tome and book of darkness.
• It has the same strength bonus as a rune defender, plus +2 ranged strength and +5 prayer.
• It lowers all defensive bonuses, so it is best used where you do not expect to be hit often.
• Added to the PK Point store for 2.5K PKP.

Moon armour

The Blood moon armour, Blue moon armour and Eclipse moon armour sets were added.

New prayers

Two new prayers were added. Each is unlocked by reading a tradeable prayer scroll (100K value each) dropped by the Gemstone Crab and Chambers of Xeric.

• Deadeye requires 62 Prayer. It boosts Ranged Attack by 18%, Ranged Strength by 18% and Defence by 5%. Unlocked with the Deadeye prayer scroll, it replaces Eagle Eye in the prayer book.
• Mystic Vigour requires 63 Prayer. It boosts Magic Attack and Magic Defence by 18%, Magic Damage by 3% and non-Magic Defence by 5%. Unlocked with the Mystic vigour prayer scroll, it replaces Mystic Might in the prayer book.

New Wilderness events

Gold Wilderness Chest

The Gold Wilderness Chest is a high-stakes, singles-only Wilderness event.

• The event only takes place in single-way combat areas. If the chest holder walks into multi-combat, they take 10 damage every tick until they return to singles.
• Players must risk at least 50,000 PKP to pick up the chest or attack the player holding it.
• Picking up the chest teleblocks the holder for 30 minutes and freezes them for 5 seconds. The holder is visibly carrying the chest.
• Players near the event cannot join or leave clan chats.
• It spawns at singles locations such as the Deserted Keep, the Ice Plateau and the North Cemetery, several times a day.
• To win, the chest must be carried out of the Wilderness alive. If the holder dies, it drops in the singles area. If the holder logs out, it drops on the ground straight away.

Treasure Hunt

The Treasure Hunt is a multi-stage Wilderness event where players race to find treasure map pieces and claim the Treasure Chest.

• The event runs several times a day and starts with a global broadcast. Players can teleport there with ::treasure.
• Players dig with a Wilderness Spade (2.5K PKP, always lost on death).
• Each event has 5 dig locations, which are either all multi-combat or all singles.
• Once all 5 map pieces are found, an arrow points to the final chest. The first player to reach it wins the event.
• The final Treasure Chest holds high-tier loot, including the Infernal cape and large PKP prizes.
• All participants get 2.5K to 15K PKP depending on how many pieces they found (1 to 5).
• Dying resets your progress.
• A Pirate pet can be found while digging.

Gemstone Crab

The Gemstone Crab is a new hourly Wilderness boss for low-risk PvM in low-level single-way combat areas.

• Each spawn lasts 10 minutes.
• Around 10 of the top attackers receive a roll on the main drop table. All other participants receive PKP.
• It is the drop source of the Deadeye and Mystic Vigour prayer scrolls.

Boss Bounty

Boss Bounty is a new event hosted by Community Managers. They can give any monster a temporary custom drop, for example an Elysian spirit shield from Green dragons at a 1/1,000 rate. The first player to receive the item wins it. The events are announced in-game.

High Roller Zone

The High Roller Zone (::highroller) is an exclusive area for the richest players. Entry requires a net worth of at least 1B PKP, checked in real time. It is a quiet, private space to relax, meet other players or gear up.

Interfaces and systems

Daily hiscores

The top Edgeville PKers each day now share 85M OSRS GP, paid out by ranking through the ::daily interface.

YouTube Giveaway System

The YouTube Giveaway System was improved.

• Comments are now checked automatically through YouTube. If a winner did not comment, a new winner is rolled and notified.
• Giveaways can be filtered by "Videos Only" or "Livestream Only".
• The giveaway hiscores were expanded from 15 to 25 slots.
• A new ::LIVE tab lists all YouTubers currently streaming.

Castle Wars

Castle Wars received several improvements.

• Barricades work again and show team colours.
• If a flag is missing from its stand, arrows point to where both flags are.
• A statistics board at ::cw shows personal and global Castle Wars stats.
• Players can host games. A PKP reward is split evenly between the winning team, while an item reward goes to a random player on the winning team.

Wilderness event locations

The ::locs interface was rebuilt.

• It lists all active Wilderness events live.
• It shows every possible event location, not just the active ones.
• A drop-down filter shows holiday events when they are running.

Wilderness Chest

The Wilderness Chest event was improved.

• Players can no longer join or leave clan chats while at or near the event.
• The player holding the chest is now visibly carrying it.

Quest tab

The Quest tab gained an Events tab that updates live.

• Timers and start times for all active and upcoming timed events.
• How many players are at each event.
• Boss HP for monster events such as the Gemstone Crab.
• The exact location of the next Wilderness event.

Minor updates

• Steel ring added to the Crazy archaeologist drop table (4K PKP).
• Earthbound tecpatl added for free to the melee accessories shop.
• The Preserve prayer scroll (Torn prayer scroll) was added to the Chambers of Xeric drop table.
• Arrow hints were rewritten for smoother performance.
• The prayer book was rewritten and now has optional prayer tooltips.
• Achievements and Daily Task buttons were added to the Account Management tab.
• Your Bounty Hunter target now flashes on the minimap up to 64 tiles away.
• The default PKP per kill was raised from 100 to 500 PKP.
• Mines Auto-Play now shows ::minenumbers and the expected winnings.
• The Osmumten's fang max hit formula was corrected.
• Hueycoatl hide vambraces and Hueycoatl hide chaps no longer require 40 Defence.
