Verac's equipment

Verac the Defiled, one of the six Barrows brothers.

Verac's equipment is the melee set of Verac the Defiled, one of the six Barrows brothers. It is made of Verac's helm, Verac's brassard, Verac's plateskirt and Verac's flail. The armour needs 70 Defence and the flail needs 70 Attack and 70 Strength.

Unlike the other melee Barrows sets, every piece has a prayer bonus and no magic defence penalty. Prayer bonus slows down prayer drain (your prayer lasts (1 + prayer bonus ÷ 30) times as long), so the set's +18 alone makes your prayer last 60% longer. With all four pieces worn, each melee attack has a 25% chance to skip the accuracy roll, and against players those hits also go through Protect from Melee (see Set effect). The whole set costs 1,000 PK points in the PK Point Shop.

The flail attacks every 6 ticks (3.6 seconds).

Set effect

While you wear all four pieces, each melee attack has a 25% chance to skip the accuracy roll, so it cannot miss (the damage roll can still be 0). Against other players, such a hit also ignores Protect from Melee, which would otherwise cut the damage by 40%.

With the Amulet of the damned

If you also wear an Amulet of the damned (full), you get +4 prayer bonus on top of the amulet's own bonuses.

Barrows

Every piece can be found in the chest at the Barrows, which you can open after killing all six brothers.

PK Point Shop

The PK Point Shop at ::shops sells every piece for PK points:

• Verac's helm: 150
• Verac's brassard: 350

• Verac's armour set (all four pieces in one item): 1,000

Other sources

• Starter kits: the Tribrid Pking and PvMer starter kits, which you can pick when you create an account, each include a Verac's plateskirt.
• Crates: Verac's helm and plateskirt can come from a Bronze Crate, and a Gold Crate can give a Verac's armour set.
• Collection log: the reward for completing the Barrows Chests collection log includes a Verac's armour set.
• Achievements: these PvP achievements reward Verac's armour sets: Kill 250 Players in the Deep Wilderness, Obtain a Killstreak of 450 and Obtain a Killstreak of 500 (one set each); Kill 1,000 Players as a Zerker (2 noted sets).
• Trading post: all pieces are tradeable.
• Item set: the four pieces can be swapped for a Verac's armour set (and back) at the item sets interface.

Breaking and repair

Verac's equipment does not wear down while you use it; the Check option always shows a 100% charge. A piece only breaks when it is dropped on the floor outside the Barrows crypt, for example when you lose it on death. It then turns into its broken version, such as Verac's flail 0, which has no bonuses and cannot be worn. Use the broken piece's Repair option to fix it for 25 PK points. Broken pieces are tradeable.
