Ferocious gloves are melee gloves that need 80 Attack and 80 Defence. They give +16 stab, slash and crush attack and +14 melee strength, the highest melee attack and melee strength of any gloves in the ::bis list. In exchange they have no defence bonuses at all and a -16 penalty to magic and ranged attack, so they are made for pure melee setups. They cannot be traded, and they cost 500 vote points in the Voting shop.

Compared with Barrows gloves

Barrows gloves are free in the Melee Accessories and Magic Accessories shops at ::shops:

Ferocious gloves Barrows gloves
Requirements 80 Attack, 80 Defence 41 Defence
Stab / slash / crush attack +16 +12
Melee strength +14 +12
Magic / ranged attack -16 / -16 +6 / +12
Defence bonuses None +12 (magic +6)

Ferocious gloves add +4 to each melee attack bonus and +2 strength, but give up every defence bonus and make your magic and ranged attacks less accurate, so Barrows gloves remain the better choice when you switch between combat styles.

How to get it

Voting shop

The Voting shop sells them for 500 vote points.

Drops

Source Quantity Rate
Guardian of Votes 1 about 1/11 per main drop

Each main drop of the Guardian of Votes that is not its TokHaar-kal (1/75) is one of 11 items picked at random, and Ferocious gloves are one of them.

Other sources

  • Crates: the Treasure Chest from Treasure Hunt.
  • They cannot be traded, so they cannot be bought from other players.

Death and repairs

The gloves are kept when you die. If you die somewhere you lose items, such as the Wilderness, they turn into Ferocious gloves (broken) and the player who killed you receives 300 PK points. Use the Repair option on the broken gloves to fix them for 300 PK points. With Auto-Fix Untradeables turned on in the Quest tab settings, they are repaired automatically when you die, as long as you have enough PK points. See Items Kept on Death for the general rules.
