Mobile/Getting started
Getting started on mobile takes about a minute: open the play page in your browser, log in with your normal Roat Pkz account and, if you like, add the game to your home screen so it opens full screen like an app.
What you need
- An Android phone or tablet with Chrome, or an iPhone or iPad with Safari.
- A steady internet connection. Wi-Fi or a good mobile signal both work.
- A fairly recent device. The game picks the right version for your phone by itself, but older phones with little memory may close the game during long sessions. See Performance and battery.
There is nothing to download or install from an app store.
Open the game
- Open play.roatpkz.com in your browser. The Play Now button on the Roat Pkz website goes to the same page.
- Turn your phone sideways. The game always plays in landscape; if you hold the phone upright, the game is drawn sideways.
- Wait for the loading screen to finish. The first visit takes the longest, later visits start faster.
Log in
Roat Pkz uses one account for every client. Your mobile account is the same as the one you use on the downloaded client or the web client on a computer, with the same bank, items and ranks.
- Type your Username and Password and tap Log in.
- New player? Type the username you want and a password. A name nobody has used yet creates a new account. If you get "Incorrect password", the name is taken, so try another.
- Tick Remember me to save the account on this device. Saved accounts show under Saved accounts, so next time you can tap your name instead of typing.
- Forgot password? above the password box opens the account page on the Roat Pkz website.
- Your forum account is separate from your game account.
If your phone closes the game in the background while you were logged in with a saved account, the game logs you back in when you open it again.
Add it to your home screen
Adding the game to your home screen gives you a Roat Pkz icon that opens the game full screen and in landscape, without the browser's address bar.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open play.roatpkz.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The Roat Pkz icon appears on your home screen.
- Open the game from that icon from now on.
On an iPad, Safari shows a reminder: For a full-screen game, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. Tap the cross to close it.
Android (Chrome)
- Open play.roatpkz.com in Chrome.
- Tap the menu button (three dots in the top right).
- Tap Add to Home screen or Install app (the name depends on your Chrome version).
- Tap Add or Install.
- Open the game from the new Roat Pkz icon.
On Android the game also switches to full screen by itself when you tap the game, even in a normal Chrome tab.
After you log in
- Learn the touch controls on Mobile/Controls.
- Your hotkey bar is in the bottom left, already set up with teleports, item spawning, quick-prayers, special attack and the Magic tab. See Mobile/Hotkey bar.
