The Accursed sceptre is a one-handed magic weapon that requires level 70 Magic. It is the upgraded Thammaron's sceptre: it is powered by revenant ether, casts its own spell without runes, and while charged your magic attacks on monsters in the Wilderness are 50% more accurate and deal more damage. Compared with Thammaron's sceptre it has +22 Magic attack instead of +15, a spell that hits 2 higher, and a special attack that lowers the target's Defence and Magic. Players can compare it in the ::bis interface.

Effect
Built-in spell
- The sceptre attacks with its own spell every 4 ticks (2.4 seconds). The spell needs no runes and works on every spellbook. The sceptre cannot autocast spellbook spells.
- Max hit: your Magic level ÷ 3, rounded down, minus 6. That is 27 at 99 Magic; boosted Magic levels count. Magic damage bonuses from your other gear are added on top.
- The spell cannot be cast unless the sceptre holds more than 1,000 ether.
Wilderness bonus
While the sceptre holds more than 1,000 ether, your magic attacks on monsters in the Wilderness and in the Royal and Divine donator zones are 50% more accurate and get an extra +50% magic damage bonus.
Special attack
The special attack costs 50% special attack energy. It casts a stronger version of the sceptre's spell with 50% more accuracy and a 50% higher max hit (40 at 99 Magic before other bonuses). It also lowers the target's Defence and Magic levels to 85% of their normal level; levels that are already lower than that are not lowered further. It works against players and monsters. Only the Accursed sceptre has a special attack, not the Accursed sceptre (u).
Charges
- Use revenant ether on the sceptre to charge it. The first 1,000 ether only activate it; they stay in the sceptre and are returned when you uncharge it. It holds up to 17,000 ether, so up to 16,000 casts.
- Every magic attack you make with it uses 1 ether, including the special attack.
- You can only own one charged Accursed sceptre. If you are killed by another player, the stored ether always goes to the killer and the sceptre becomes uncharged, even if you keep it.
- Every revenant drops 5–15 revenant ether per kill, and every royal revenant drops 10–30.
How to get it
Use a Skull of vet'ion on a Thammaron's sceptre (u) to make the Accursed sceptre (u), then charge it with revenant ether. Dismantle on the Accursed sceptre (u) gives both parts back.

- The Skull of vet'ion also comes from the Monster Crate. For Thammaron's sceptre (u), see Thammaron's sceptre.
- The Accursed sceptre (u) is tradeable, so it can be bought from other players or on the Trading post. The charged sceptre cannot be traded.
