Thammaron's sceptre is a one-handed magic weapon that needs level 60 Magic to wield. It is powered by revenant ether and casts its own spell, so it needs no runes. While charged, your magic attacks on monsters in the Wilderness are 50% more accurate and deal more damage, which makes it a good magic weapon for revenants and other Wilderness monsters. It can be upgraded into the Accursed sceptre. Players can compare it in the ::bis interface.

Effect

Built-in spell

  • The sceptre attacks with its own spell every 4 ticks (2.4 seconds). The spell needs no runes and works on every spellbook. The sceptre cannot autocast spellbook spells.
  • Max hit: your Magic level ÷ 3, rounded down, minus 8. That is 25 at 99 Magic; boosted Magic levels count. Magic damage bonuses from your other gear are added on top.
  • The spell cannot be cast unless the sceptre holds more than 1,000 ether.

Wilderness bonus

While the sceptre holds more than 1,000 ether, your magic attacks on monsters in the Wilderness and in the Royal and Divine donator zones are 50% more accurate and get an extra +50% magic damage bonus.

Charges

  • Use revenant ether on the sceptre to charge it. The first 1,000 ether only activate it; they stay in the sceptre and are returned when you uncharge it. It holds up to 17,000 ether, so up to 16,000 casts.
  • Every magic attack you make with it uses 1 ether.
  • You can only own one charged Thammaron's sceptre. If you are killed by another player, the stored ether always goes to the killer and the sceptre becomes uncharged, even if you keep it.
  • Every revenant drops 5–15 revenant ether per kill, and every royal revenant drops 10–30.

How to get it

The sceptre is obtained as Thammaron's sceptre (u) and then charged with revenant ether.

  • Slayer Shop: 200 Slayer points.
  • Achievements: the Slayer Tasks achievements give one at 250 completed tasks.
  • It also comes from the Monster Crate, the Slayer Crate, and Divine Slayer and Lucky impling jars.
  • Thammaron's sceptre (u) is tradeable, so it can be bought from other players or on the Trading post. The charged sceptre cannot be traded.

Upgrade

Use a Skull of vet'ion (dropped by Vet'ion and Divine Vet'ion) on a Thammaron's sceptre (u) to make an Accursed sceptre (u). The Accursed sceptre has +22 Magic attack, a stronger spell, the same Wilderness bonus and a special attack. Dismantle on the Accursed sceptre (u) gives both parts back.
