An Overload potion is a Divine Donator-only potion that boosts Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged and Magic at the same time. It was added in the February 2026 update. The boost only works against monsters: it wears off the moment you enter PvP combat.

Overloads can't be traded. The only way to get them is to make them yourself with Herblore.

Making overloads

You need to be a Divine Donator with level 99 Herblore. Mix these together to make an Overload (4), which gives 500 Herblore experience:

Ingredient Amount
Super attack(4) 1
Super strength(4) 1
Super defence(4) 1
Ranging potion(4) 1
Magic potion(4) 1
Torstol 1

Players without the rank who try get the message that only Divine Donators can make Overload Potions.

Drinking an overload

To drink a dose you need:

  • the Divine Donator rank;
  • a Herblore level of 99;
  • more than 50 Hitpoints;
  • to be out of PvP combat.

Boosts

The boost is based on your base level, the same way as other boosting potions:

Skills Boost At level 99
Attack, Strength and Defence 22% + 5 levels +26 (to 125)
Ranged and Magic 17% + 7 levels +23 (to 122)

At low levels the boost is at least 5 levels for Attack, Strength and Defence and 7 levels for Ranged and Magic.

Duration

  • One dose lasts 5 minutes. A dose from a Chugging barrel lasts 10 minutes.
  • Every 15 seconds the boost is put back to full, so your levels stay at or near the maximum for the whole 5 minutes.
  • When the timer runs out, the boost is no longer refreshed and your levels drop back down normally.
  • Right after drinking you can't drink another dose for a few seconds: You are still suffering the effects of a fresh dose of overload.

Damage

Drinking a dose hurts you. Over the next few seconds you take five hits of up to 10 damage, 50 Hitpoints in total. The damage can't take you below 1 Hitpoint.

PvM only

The overload effect is for PvM only:

  • You can't drink an overload while you're in PvP combat.
  • If you attack a player, or a player attacks you, while the overload is active, the effect ends straight away. Your levels are reset and you get the boost of a super combat potion, a ranging potion and a magic potion instead. The game tells you Your overload potion effect wears off as you enter PvP combat.
  • The effect is also removed when you enter a minigame, an instance or a duel.
