The Rune defender is a melee off-hand item worn in the shield slot. It needs 40 Attack and 40 Defence and gives +20 stab, +19 slash and +18 crush attack, the same amounts of defence, and +5 melee strength. It is free in the Melee Accessories shop at ::shops, and it is the strongest free defender: in the ::bis interface only the Dragon defender (1,000 PKP in the PK Point Shop) and the Avernic defender (500 Vote points in the Voting shop) have higher melee attack bonuses in the shield slot. It cannot be traded.

Rune defender (t)
Rune defender ornament kit on the defender and confirm. The kit costs 500 Bounty Hunter points in the Bounty Hunter shop and can also come from medium and master clue scroll reward caskets. Dismantle on the (t) defender gives the defender and the kit back (you need a free inventory slot).
