The Staff of light is a one-handed staff that requires level 75 Attack and 75 Magic. It gives +15% magic damage, the joint highest of any weapon in the ::bis interface, and it can autocast standard spellbook spells. It also has strong melee bonuses (+70 slash attack and +72 strength). Its special attack halves the melee max hit of other players against you for a minute. It is cheap to buy from the PK Point Shop.

Standard spellbook spells cast with it take the normal 5 ticks (3 seconds).
Effect
- It can autocast standard spellbook spells.
- Like a Saradomin staff, it lets you cast Saradomin Strike.
Special attack
The special attack costs 100% special attack energy and is used as soon as you click the special attack bar; it does not attack. For the next minute (100 ticks), melee attacks from other players against you have their max hit halved. Voidwaker and Korasi special attacks are not affected (see Voidwaker). The effect ends early if you change weapons. It cannot be used in the Duel Arena or in tournaments.

TzTok-Jad and Skotizo are timed bosses: the player who deals the most damage gets an MVP reward instead, and every other player has a chance at a drop roll based on their share of the damage.

- Achievements: TzTok-Jad and Skotizo kill achievements and several PvP achievements give Staffs of light, for example 40 TzTok-Jad kills, 15 tournament wins or 100 Last Man Standing wins.
- Master clue scroll reward caskets.
- The Gold crate (see Crate Frenzy), the PvP, Stardust and Vote Mystery Boxes, and seasonal event boxes.
- It is tradeable, so it can be bought from other players or on the Trading post.
