The Amulet of avarice is an amulet dropped by the Revenant maledictus. It gives 20% more accuracy and damage against revenants with every combat style, and the ordinary drops you get in the Revenant Caves, the Slayer Cave and the Revenant maledictus' cave come noted while you wear it. The catch is that it keeps you skulled for as long as you have it on.
Wearing it is also the only way to get Forinthry Surge, a 30-minute boost that raises the revenant bonus to 35%. Surge goes to the top damage dealer at the Revenant maledictus, and it can be taken from a player by killing them.

Effects
Against revenants
- You deal 20% more damage and are 20% more accurate against revenants, with melee, ranged and magic. This covers every revenant, the Royal Revenants and the Revenant maledictus, wherever they are.
- It does not stack with the Salve amulet or the Slayer helmet: against revenants the amulet's bonus is used instead of theirs.
- With Forinthry Surge active the bonus is 35%.
Skull
- Putting the amulet on gives you a PK skull straight away. If you are not skulled yet, the game warns you first: "Wearing this amulet keeps you skulled. Removing it starts a 20-minute skull timer."
- While you wear it, your skull never runs out, and neither
::unskullnor the Emblem Trader can remove it. - Taking the amulet off starts a fresh 20-minute skull. See Skulling for what a skull means when you die.
Noted drops
While you wear it, the ordinary drops from monsters in the Revenant Caves, the Slayer Cave and the Revenant maledictus' cave come noted. This works for drops on the ground and for drops that go straight to your inventory with a Collector's ring. These drops are not noted:
- stackable items, food, potions and items that have no noted version;
- the ancient crystal, the ancient artifacts (emblem, totem, statuette, medallion, effigy and relic), bracelets of ethereum and amulets of avarice;
- Craw's bow (u), Viggora's chainmace (u) and Thammaron's sceptre (u);
- rare drops that are announced to everyone.
Forinthry Surge
Forinthry Surge is a 30-minute boost for a player wearing an Amulet of avarice.
- Getting it: when a Revenant maledictus fight ends, the player who dealt the most damage gets Surge if they are wearing an Amulet of avarice at that moment. If the top damage dealer is not wearing one, nobody gets it. The game says "Your amulet grants you Forinthry Surge for 30 minutes: 35% accuracy and damage against revenants."
- Effect: the amulet's bonus against revenants rises from 20% to 35%, and your skull turns into the Forinthry Surge skull shown here. It still shows how many loot keys you are carrying.
- How long it lasts: 30 minutes of real time, and it keeps counting down while you are logged out. Winning Surge again tops it back up to 30 minutes.
- Checking it: use Check on the worn amulet to see how much time is left.
- Losing it: Surge ends at once if you take the amulet off or die. The game says "Your Forinthry Surge has faded away." when it runs out.
- Taking it from others: if you kill a player who has Surge in a PvP area where items are lost, and you are wearing an Amulet of avarice yourself, you take over the time they had left (when it is more than your own). The game says "You have claimed your opponent's Forinthry Surge" and shows the time remaining.
How to get it
| Source | Quantity | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1/100 per drop table roll |
Being skulled improves the rate by 20%, along with the usual drop rate bonuses. The amulet can also be bought from other players on the Trading post.
