Deep Wilderness Fishing
Deep Wilderness Fishing is the fishing spot on the Ice Plateau, deep in the Wilderness at level 54–56. It is the only place in the game where you can catch halibut and marlin, the two best fish for Fishing experience, and the only place where you can cook them. It was added in the July 2026 update.

::44Getting there
The Ice Plateau is the icy area in the far west of the deep Wilderness, north of the 44 Portals (::44). The shoals are along its northern edge, at Wilderness level 54–56. Demonic gorillas, ice warriors, ice spiders and other monsters also live on the plateau.

| 83 | 3 Halibut shoals | 12,480 | about 36 s at level 83, 27 s at 99 | 3,000 SKP | 83 | 4,200 | 20 (combo food) | |

- The experience already includes the double experience every fish gives in the Wilderness, before your other bonuses (see Fishing training).
- The time per catch is an average. Each catch takes a random time around it, and a higher Fishing level makes it faster.
- "Sells for" is what the Fishing Tutor and the Cooking Tutor pay for one raw fish, in skilling points.
- The shoals move between two nearby spots from time to time.
What to bring
A fishing rod: 250 skilling points in the Fishing shop (Fishing Tutor at ::fishing) or the Skilling shop.
Fine fish offcuts: 4 skilling points each in the Fishing shop. Every catch uses one offcut, and you stop fishing when you run out.- The Angler outfit adds up to 10% more Fishing experience; see Fishing training.
Cooking and banking
- Halibut and marlin can only be cooked on the Ice Plateau. There are two fires on the plateau for this. Cooking gives double experience in the Wilderness, so the Cooking experience in the table already includes it. See Cooking training for burn rates and skilling points.
- A Piles NPC on the plateau turns your fish and other items into banknotes, so you can keep fishing without a trip to the bank.
Risk
The Ice Plateau is a dangerous area in the deep Wilderness. Other players can attack you, and if you die you lose your items as described on Items Kept on Death. Normal teleports only work up to level 20 Wilderness, and amulets of glory up to level 30, so from the plateau you have to run south before you can teleport away.
- Only bring what you need: a fishing rod, offcuts and some food.
- Your catch is lost if you die, noted or not, so sell or bank it often.
Using the fish
- Marlin heal 24 Hitpoints, the most of any normal food. Halibut heal 20 and are a combo food, so you can eat one in the same tick as another food or a potion. Both are tradeable; see Food.
- You can also buy them with PK points: marlin cost 5 PKP and halibut 3 PKP in the Food and Potions shop and the PK Point Shop.
- Marlin scales, used to make the Extended stamina potion, are sold in the Herblore shop.
