Potion decanting
Potion decanting is combining the doses of part-used potions into full ones, so your potions take up less space. You can mix two potions by hand, or decant every part-used potion in your inventory at once for free at the decanting crate (::decant). Decanting was reworked in the July 2026 update so that it works with every potion in the game, including noted potions.
Decanting everything at once
Type ::decant to teleport to the decanting crate at Edgeville home, then click the crate. It decants every part-used potion in your inventory in one go:
- All the doses of each kind of potion are added together and turned into noted full potions, plus at most one noted potion with the doses that are left over. For example, three super restore(3) and a super restore(2) (11 doses) become two noted super restore(4) and one noted super restore(3).
- It decants noted part-used potions too, so you can bring a whole stack of noted part-used potions from your bank.
- Full potions you are carrying are left as they are.
- You need at least two part-used potions of the same kind for that kind to be decanted.
- It works with every potion in the game, whether it holds 2, 3 or 4 doses, including Roat Pkz potions such as the Ancient brew, Forgotten brew, Menaphite remedy, Extended stamina potion and Prayer regeneration potion.
- Decanting is free and gives no experience. When it is done you get the message You mix [number] doses of potion together.
If the new potions don't fit in your inventory, nothing is changed and you get the message You do not have enough inventory space to decant those potions. Make some space and try again.

Mixing by hand
Use a part-used potion on another part-used potion of the same kind to pour the doses together:
- One potion is filled up as far as it can go, and the other keeps any doses that are left. If nothing is left, it becomes an empty vial.
- For example, a prayer potion(3) used on a prayer potion(2) gives a prayer potion(4) and a prayer potion(1).
- Neither potion can be full, and both must be the same kind of potion.
Where you can't decant
You can't decant while trading, during a duel or a gamble, or while dead or teleporting. You also can't mix potions in Last Man Standing.
Chugging barrel
A Chugging barrel stores up to 100 doses of each of five potions. Doses you put in are added to the same slot no matter how many doses each bottle had, so filling a barrel also gets rid of your part-used potions.
