| Barrows equipment and the Echo ahrim's ornament kit from the chest (see Rewards) | Varied |
The Barrows is a minigame east of Mort'ton. You dig into the crypts of the six Barrows brothers, defeat each of them, and then loot the chest in the middle of the tunnels for pieces of their equipment. It is outside the Wilderness and every brother you wake up fights only you, so it is a calm way to collect Barrows gear.
Getting there
- Type ::barrows or pick Barrows in the Teleport interface.
- You arrive north of the six burial mounds, next to a bank chest and a Box of health. The Box of health refills your Hitpoints, Prayer and run energy and cures poison and venom, so use it before every run.
A Barrows run
- Stand on top of a brother's mound and dig with your spade. You fall into his crypt.
- Search the sarcophagus. The brother wakes up ("You dare disturb my rest!") and attacks you. Kill him, then climb the stairs back up and go to the next mound.
- In one of the six crypts, chosen at random for every run, searching the sarcophagus offers you a hidden tunnel instead of waking the brother. If you find it before the other five are dead, say no and come back to it last.
- When the other five are dead, search that sarcophagus and enter the tunnel. It takes you straight to the chest room.
- Click the chest. The last brother appears ("You dare steal from us!"). Kill him and open the chest.
- Your rewards go to your inventory (or to the floor if it is full). The game tells you what the chest is worth in Pk Points and how many Barrows chests you have opened.
- Use the portal next to the chest to go back up to the bank chest and the Box of health, and start again.
An overlay shows which brothers you have killed during the current run.
The brothers
All six brothers have 250 Hitpoints, attack on sight and are weak to air: Wind Strike, Bolt, Blast, Wave and Surge are 50% more accurate and hit 50% harder against every one of them.

Echo ahrim's ornament kit |
2,000. Use it on an Ahrim's piece to turn it into its echo version. | |||
- Every piece is also sold in the PK Point Shop (see each set's page), and all of them can be traded with other players.
- The four pieces of a set can be swapped for a single armour set item, which is easier to store and trade (see the set pages).
- Completing the Barrows chests page of the Collection log rewards a Dharok's, Ahrim's, Karil's, Verac's and Torag's armour set.
Recommended gear
- Magic: air spells work against every brother. Use the standard spellbook and a staff or wand that can autocast standard spells, such as the Kodai wand, Master wand or Staff of the dead, with an Occult necklace, Mystic robes, Ahrim's equipment or Ancestral robes, an imbued god cape and a Tormented bracelet. Carry your runes in a Rune pouch.
- Prayer: Protect from Melee against Dharok, Guthan and Torag, Protect from Magic against Ahrim and Protect from Missiles against Karil. Dharok can hit up to 57, so never fight him without Protect from Melee.
- Supplies: Food, prayer potions or super restores and a magic potion from Potions.
- Spade: you need one to dig into the mounds. Spades are not rare, so you can spawn one with ::item 952.
Risks
- No player killers. The Barrows are outside the Wilderness, and each brother you wake up attacks only you.
- Dying. The Barrows are not a safe minigame. If a brother kills you, you keep your 3 most valuable items (4 with Protect Item) and the rest of your items are dropped where you died. See Items Kept on Death.
- Verac hits through protection prayers, so keep your Hitpoints up while you fight him.
Tips
- Only one brother can be awake at a time, and a brother you have already killed this run does not come back.
- If you walk more than 10 tiles away from a brother, he disappears. Search his sarcophagus again to bring him back.
- You do not need to look for the tunnel first. Kill the five brothers who wake up when you search their sarcophagus, then use the crypt with the tunnel last, as in the steps above.
- The minimap is dark inside the crypts and tunnels, so use the overlay to keep track of which brothers are left.
