XP lamp
An XP lamp gives you experience in a skill of your choice. Rub the lamp, pick a skill in the Choose the stat you wish to be advanced! window, check the level preview and click Confirm!. There are three lamps: Bronze for 10,000 XP, Silver for 100,000 XP and Gold for 500,000 XP. They work on 15 non-combat skills; you set your combat levels for free instead.
The lamps
You get lamps as rewards, for example from skilling Achievements, which give Silver lamps.
Using a lamp
After you claim, your chat confirms it, for example You have received +10,000 XP in Agility, with your XP before and after.
Skills
A lamp can train any of these 15 skills:
| Agility | Herblore | Thieving | Crafting | Runecrafting |
| Slayer | Farming | Hunter | Mining | Smithing |
| Fishing | Cooking | Firemaking | Woodcutting | Fletching |
Combat skills aren't on the list. You set those levels for free in the Skills tab instead; see Setting levels.
Where you can't use a lamp
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| During a mini-game | You can not use an xp lamp during a mini-game. |
| While you're under attack in the Wilderness or another PvP zone | You can not use an xp lamp while under attack in the wilderness. |
| During a trade, duel or gamble | The lamp doesn't open. |
| The lamp isn't in your inventory | XP lamp not found in inventory. |
These checks run again when you click Yes - claim it!, so you can't open the window first and claim later from a place where lamps don't work.
Good to know
- The window remembers the last skill you picked until you log out.
- XP from a lamp doesn't count towards that skill's Daily & Weekly hiscores.
- Experience stops at 200M in a skill, the same as when you train it.
- Lamp XP levels you up just like training does, with the usual level-up message in your chat.
