Bearded gorillas are monsters in the Wilderness, at the Ruins between levels 26 and 28. Type ::gorillas to get there.
They are best known for their zenyte jewellery. The Necklace of anguish, Amulet of torture, Tormented bracelet and Ring of suffering (i) each drop at 1/200, and 500–1,000 PK points drop at 1/10 (see Drops).
Getting there
- Type ::gorillas (also ::gorilla or ::beardedgorillas), or open the Teleport interface and choose Monsters → Bearded Gorillas. The teleport is free.
- You arrive in level 26 Wilderness, right next to the gorillas. As with every Wilderness teleport, the game asks you to confirm first, unless you have turned off Teleport Warnings in the quest tab.

Facing a bearded gorilla inside the Ruins
There are eight bearded gorillas. The area is single-way combat.
Fight overview
- Bearded gorillas are not aggressive, so they only fight you once you attack them.
- They only attack from right next to you, once every 5 ticks (3 seconds).
- Most of their attacks are melee hits of up to 25. About one attack in seven is a ranged throw instead, which can hit up to 37.
- Protect from Melee blocks the melee hits completely and Protect from Missiles blocks the throws completely. A throw goes through Protect from Melee, so with Protect from Melee on you can still take a hit of up to 37 now and then.
- They have 300 Hitpoints and no attack or defence bonuses, so every combat style works against them.
- They respawn 60 ticks (36 seconds) after they die.
- You are in the Wilderness, so other players can attack you while you fight. Only bring what you are willing to lose (see Items Kept on Death).

Setups
These setups come from what players wear when they kill the Bearded gorilla. Each tab shows the gear most players use at that price, what it costs, and how long a kill usually takes with it. Prices are in PK points (PKP) at today's in-game prices, and spawnable items are free to spawn. Most players use melee.

Drops
- The items under Zenytes are rolled one at a time, from the rarest down, and the first one you hit is your drop.
- If you hit none of them, you get one of the four supplies under Common at random, so every kill gives one item from these two tables.
- Big bones are always dropped.
- Clue scrolls are rolled separately, and you can't get a clue scroll of a tier you already have.
The donator columns show each rate with that donator rank's drop rate boost. Zenyte jewellery drops are announced to the whole server.
