Fight overview
Fighting the Chaos Elemental is a matter of countering its unequip attack by keeping your inventory full and avoiding player killers. As it attacks with random damage types, you will always be taking damage. Therefore, it is critical to maximize the amount of healing you bring while minimizing your risk. Dragonhide armour is effective. Always check your Items Kept on Death before fighting this boss, and never bring anything you are not willing to lose.
The Chaos Elemental's primary attack, Discord, is a projectile attack that resembles series of three different colours fired at the target. This attack can deal either Magic, Ranged, or Melee damage — it is impossible to distinguish what damage is dealt. Each hit can deal up to 28 damage. It is still suggested that players utilise Protect from Magic, as about 3 in 5 of its damaging attacks are magic, and the matching protection prayer blocks the hit completely. The Chaos Elemental attacks every player fighting it at the same time.
The Chaos Elemental has three attacks:
Discord
Confusion
Madness
Deals Melee, Ranged or Magic damage
Teleports the target somewhere nearby
Takes off worn items (each has a 1 in 4 chance), but only while you have free inventory space
Setups
These setups come from what players wear when they kill the Chaos Elemental. Each tab shows the gear most players use at that price, what it costs, and how long a kill usually takes with it. Prices are in PK points (PKP) at today's in-game prices, and spawnable items are free to spawn. Players use melee and ranged about equally. Its attacks can take off your gear and put it in your inventory, but only into free slots, so these setups fill all 28.
